Welcome to the Control Freaks monthly blog tour! This month’s theme is New Catalog Sneak Peek!

This is the first stop on the tour, but you may have just visited the very talented, Dawn Olchefske.  She always has some amazing projects to share.  You’ll want to read through to end of this post to find out your next stop on the tour.

Every year, Stampin’ UP! introduces five new colors to add to our existing line.  These colors are only available for 2 years, and then they are retired.  I like to introduce customers to the new IN Color arrivals at my new catalog launch parties.  I find the best way to do that is with a simple make & take project that is quick, easy, and highlights each individual color.

Powder Pink IN Color Card
POWDER PINK

For these cards, I used the following products:

Thick Whisper White Card Stock

In Color 8-1/2″ x 11″ Card Stock

Happy Birthday Thinlits (with the Big Shot)

Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack

1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in each color

Fresh Fig In Color Card
FRESH FIG

To conserve paper, I cut the Happy Birthday Thinlits from the In Color Card Stock that is behind the front panel.  I love showing my customers neat little tricks like this!  The measurements that I use for the Designer Series Paper also helps with maximizing the paper for creating multiple cards.

Here are the measurements for the card pieces in order of layers from back to front:

Whisper White:  4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″  OR 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

In Color Card Stock:  4″ x 5-1/4″

Whisper White:  3-3/4″ x 5″

Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper:  1-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ or 3/4″ by 5″

At my open house events, I will let my customers select their favorite color for their make & take project.  It is exciting to see which colors are the most popular each year.  I haven’t picked a favorite because I love them all!

Have you picked a favorite new In Color?

Tell me about in the comments.  I’d love to hear your thoughts.
