Cinderella

Yesterday, Bella and I went to see the movie, Cinderella.  It's very good, in case you were wondering.  Go see it!  So today's card was inspired by the movie and this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

For the card background, I spritzed Shimmery White card stock with lots of water.  Then, I used an aquapainter and re-inkers to add color to the corners.  The colors I used were Pool Party and Marina Mist.  I gave it plenty of time to dry, then used my iron (yes, a regular iron) to flatten the card stock.  It will tend to warp when watercoloring and I have found that ironing the paper afterwards helps with the warping.

HappilyeverafterEach watercolored panel was layered onto Brushed Silver card stock, then adhered onto the card base with dimensionals.  The "Happily Ever After" greeting is from the stamp set Big News.  I stamped it with Pacific Point ink.  And finally, I punched several butterflies from vellum cardstock and adhered them to the card with mini glue dots.  I tried to hide the adhesive with the rhinestones and was mildly successful.

I've got one more Cinderella-inspired project to share……

Bella informed me that she would need a Cinderella outfit to wear to the movie.  Seriously, it's hard living with a girly-girl sometimes!  Since a new outfit is not in the budget right now, I figured I could pull something together.

I ended up making her a Cinderella shirt using my Silhouette Cameo and Heat Transfer Vinyl.

The image I used is available in the Silhouette store and there are many more princesses just like this one.  Because the image is so simple, this shirt took me less than 20 minutes to make!  I'm not joking.

We paired the shirt with a cute skirt and she was good to go!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Crafting!
