Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop!  We've got some great projects to share with you today, so make sure you take the time to visit all 10 blogs.  You can navigate through the hop by clicking on the Back and Next buttons at the bottom of this post.

If you follow my blog, you know that the last few projects that I've shared have been Over-the-Top and very involved.  As nice as it would be to create projects like that all the time, I actually have a life, too.  A life that involves a husband, 2 kids, 3 dogs, a full-time job, a part-time job, and volunteer positions.  So, today I am going to share with you something that I call "REAL LIFE CARDS".

When I need a card, I usually need it right away.  It's hard to believe that after all these years, I don't have a stash of ready to go cards for all occasions.  I also don't generally have an hour or two to put together a perfect, WOW card.

A REAL LIFE CARD is one that I can whip up in a matter of minutes with just a few supplies.  It still has to look good, though.  I want the recipient to feel like I cared enough to make them a decent card after all.

The card I am sharing today uses the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set.  I selected 3 ink colors to keep it simple.

Butterflycard

The card base is a half-sheet of Whisper White card stock featuring the colors of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Island Indigo.  The butterfly is from the Butterfly Bundle which includes the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and the coordinating punch.  I added a simple Candy Dot to the center of the butterfly.

Tomorrow, I'll be sharing another REAL LIFE CARD with a Fall theme using the same basic stamp sets.  If you don't want to miss it, be sure to subscribe to my blog.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!  I'm sure Wendy has something very special in store for you!

  1. I really love your real life card idea. We all need cards that we can make quickly but are still great cards. You hit the nail on the head with this. The colors are perfect too!

  2. I love this, Melissa! It is right up my stamping style alley. I love the fun colors, and the butterfly is a sweet surprise amidst the “grunge.”

  3. I love this “real life” card! While it is always fun to create the amazing over the top projects, it is just as much fun to create something simple and fun…you nailed it with this one!

  4. Very pretty color combo….and I am really enjoying our Grunge stamps…. Plain and simple and easy are the cards I enjoy making as well! TFS!
