It doesn't happen very often, but occasionally I can be CREATIVE.  Last night, I was sitting on the couch with my sick son.  Because I just can't sit & do nothing, I began punching out the shapes from my new Star Bright Ornament Kit.  I have a class scheduled in November using this kit and I really wanted to put it together for my customers to see.

If you are not familiar with this kit, here are the details:

Back to my story….

I'm a visual person, so the kit description and the picture above didn't really do anything for me.  So, I'm punching out all 12 sheets of this beautiful die-cut paper, folding & stacking the stars as I go.  The stack began to look like a Christmas Tree to me, so I quit punching for awhile and created this:

Tree 1

I had some small buckets from the Target $1 spot.  I filled the buckets with clear marbles and inserted a small dowel rod.  I punched a hole in the center of each star with the crop-o-dile and slid the stars onto the dowel until it was filled with stars.  The tree stands about 14" tall with the star topper.  I added our new candy cane striped ribbon to the bucket to dress it up.

OrnamentMerry

I now realize what a fabulous value this ornament kit is!  I have enough stars to make one more tree, plus enough other pieces to create a bunch of ornaments for my "real" tree.  I am sure that there are plenty of ornaments in this kit (if you use the stars) to fill a good sized tree!

With so many people watching their Holiday budgets, this is a great project that the family can do together and it's only $19.95!

This kit is featured in the new Holiday Mini Catalog and is available to order online.  If you would like a hard copy of the mini catalog, just email me at melissa42@msn.com
