Every year, Stampin’ UP! introduces five new colors to add to our existing line. These colors are only available for 2 years, and then they are retired. I like to introduce customers to the new IN Color arrivals at my new catalog launch parties. I find the best way to do that is with a simple make & take project that is quick, easy, and highlights each individual color.
Thick Whisper White Card Stock
In Color 8-1/2″ x 11″ Card Stock
Happy Birthday Thinlits (with the Big Shot)
Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack
1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in each color
To conserve paper, I cut the Happy Birthday Thinlits from the In Color Card Stock that is behind the front panel. I love showing my customers neat little tricks like this! The measurements that I use for the Designer Series Paper also helps with maximizing the paper for creating multiple cards.
Whisper White: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ OR 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
In Color Card Stock: 4″ x 5-1/4″
Whisper White: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper: 1-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ or 3/4″ by 5″
At my open house events, I will let my customers select their favorite color for their make & take project. It is exciting to see which colors are the most popular each year. I haven’t picked a favorite because I love them all!
Have you picked a favorite new In Color?
Tell me about in the comments. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Today, I’m sharing a very simple card using the Eastern Palace Suite. It’s a bit different from the other cards I’ve created so far, but I love the whimsical and bright look. The colors I used for this card are Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Lemon-Lime Twist, and Old Olive.
To create the flowers, I had to stamp one of the medallion images twice, offsetting it slightly the second time. The flowers were stamped on individual panels of Whisper White card stock. I added the little spray image in Old Olive ink around the flowers to give it a leafy appearance. The greeting is also from the Eastern Beauty Photopolymer stamp set and was stamped in Basic Black archival ink on the bottom panel.
Each panel was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For an additional pop of color, I added some of the new Glitter Enamel Dots to the center of each flower.
Some of the products used on this card are available this month during a special preorder period. You’ll be able to purchase the Berry Burst and Lemon-Lime Twist stamp pads on June 1st. The Glitter Enamel Dots have been extremely popular with demonstrators during our preorder, so they may not be available when the catalog goes live. I’ll keep you posted on their status because you are definitely going to want them for yourself!

I just know you are going to love it. It’s a 2-step stamping set with a wide variety of images and greetings that will be available in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog beginning June 1st. I created a very simple card today using this layout from CAS(E) this Sketch.
Lately, I’ve been using the Thick Whisper White card stock for all of my clean & simple cards. It gives the card a little extra “oomph” and makes it seem more substantial. I started by stamping the greeting in the lower right corner with Basic Black archival ink. Then, I went on to build the floral background around it.
I stamped the stems & leaves with Lemon-Lime Twist ink, a new In Color for 2017. The larger flower stamp is created with 2 stamps. First, I stamped the more solid image by stamping off the ink first before stamping the card to create a lighter shade. Then, I stamped the detailed stamp full-strength over it. The larger flowers were stamped with Berry Burst and Crushed Curry inks. I filled in with some Bermuda Bay, Powder Pink, and stamped-off Lemon-Lime twist flowers and swirls.
The final touch was a few of the new Glitter Enamel Dots. These come in a package of 160, and feature ombre shades of Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, Berry Burst, and Old Olive. I can see that these will become a new favorite of mine!

Welcome back to the Monday Montage blog hop! Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring paper craft projects. Be sure to visit all the stops….you don’t want to miss anything!
On Monday, you’ll be able to order select products from the Eastern Palace suite that is featured in the upcoming 2017-2018 Stampin’ UP! Annual Catalog. The suite includes a stamp set, dies, designer series paper, stickers, and mini tassels. I’ve shared several cards that I’ve created with this set over the last week, but today’s card is my favorite so far.
I love the simplicity of using the Dapper Denim and Lemon-Lime twist color combo with the new Thick Very Vanilla card stock. The patterns in the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper are so fun to mix and match. I used the sketch below from Mojo Monday for the layout.
The larger piece of the Designer Series Paper measures 3″ x 4″ and the smaller piece is 3″ x 3″. I like to keep my measurements even, so that I can get quite a few pieces from the 12″ x 12″ sheets. It also prevents me from wasting a lot of paper. You can get 12 pieces of 3″ x 4″ from a 12″ x 12″ piece of Designer Series Paper. You can get 16 pieces of 3″ x 3″ squares from a full sheet of Designer Series Paper. . I die-cut a large a circle from the Lemon-Lime Twist pattern and added a 1″ wide banner to the back of the layers. The Layering Circles Framelits complement the Eastern Medallion Framelits dies perfectly.
The Eastern Beauty Photopolymer stamp set includes images that accent the various medallions. You can see the little floral fans stamped in Dapper Denim ink on the medallion below. Also, the stamp set includes some great greetings that are perfect for many occasions.
You’ll finally be able to begin purchasing the products from the Eastern Palace Suite on Monday, May 1st. Are you starting to get excited?
And here is an additional little fact about the Eastern Palace Suite: it was designed by our very own Kaitlyn. She works at Stampin’ UP! and she’s been on this hop with us since it started.
