Monday Montage 108

Monday Montage Banner

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  Today, I’m sharing a simple card made with Brusho Crystal Colours.  This is a fun, new product from the Occasions catalog that you’ll definitely want to own.  It creates beautiful, rich watercolor effects.

Brusho Beautiful Day

My number one tip for using Brusho is:  LESS IS MORE.  Remember you can always add more if you want a deeper color, but a tiny bit goes a long way.

For the background, I sprinkled a few of the Prussian Blue crystals onto an acrylic block and used an aqua painter to pick up the color.  Then, I just did a simple wash onto Shimmery White card stock.  Once the paper was dry, I stamped the greeting in Basic Black archival ink over the wash.  Because there is often some slight warping of the paper from the water, I layered the Shimmery White card stock onto Basic Black card stock and a Whisper White card base.

For the focal point, I stamped the flower image onto Shimmery White card stock with Versamark ink and heat embossed with White Emboss powder.  I used an aquapainter to add water to the sections of the flower, then sprinkled the Brusho Crystals over it and allowed them to work their magic.  It creates a messy-ish look, but I’m learning to embrace the imperfections.  When using the Brusho Crystals, you’ll definitely be creating one-of-a-kind cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by! You’ll find a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.
