Welcome to the Control Freaks monthly blog tour!

I am so excited to be joining the Control Freaks for another blog hop. This month our theme is Holiday Catalog and my projects feature the stamp set, Wishing You Well. You may have just visited the blog of the very talented Julie Davison. She’s always got such wonderful ideas and I love her work. Be sure to scroll to the end of this post to follow along to your next stop.

Control Freaks Welcome

On Friday, I’ll be teaching a class called 10-minute cards.  I’ve already shared four of the cards on my Facebook page.  Those cards feature stamp sets from the Annual Catalog and can easily be made from start to finish in less than 10 minutes.  I also wanted to feature at least one card from the Holiday Catalog and the Wishing You Well stamp set jumped out at me.  It’s going to be hard to pick which one of the three samples that we will make in class.  You can help by commenting with your favorite.

Wishing You Well Stamp Set

For today’s cards, I started with a Note Card Base which measures 3-1/2″ x 5″.  You can purchase these in a pack of 20 with coordinating envelopes.  It’s nice that they are already pre-cut and scored.  The next layer is a color card stock that measures 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″.  And the final Whisper White layer measures 3″ x 4-1/2″.

Wishing You Well Lavendar

At first glance, I thought this image looked like a dried lavender plant.  Nope!  It’s wheat, but that didn’t stop me from using a lavender color combo.  I stamped the main image in Smoky Slate, then added a bow in Gorgeous Grape and flowers in Highland Heather.  (It still kind of looks like lavender to me)   A few clear epoxy droplets were added for some sparkle.

Wishing You Well Note

This is my wheat card.  I began by sprinkling a small amount of Yellow Brusho onto my card stock, then spritzed it with water.  Once dry, I stamped the wheat image over the Brusho with Soft Suede ink.  The bow was stamped in Cajun Craze to give it a warm, autumn feel.  Here’s a tip:  use a sponge or dauber to apply ink to the bow. You’ll get much more even and realistic coverage.

Wishing You Well Christmas

And finally, I created a simple Christmas card with the wreath image.  I used Garden Green and Real Red for the images, and popped up the bow with dimensionals.  This is probably a 5 minute card, to be honest.

So, which card made with the Wishing You Well stamp set is your favorite?  Comment below and let me know.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Your next stop on this blog tour is LeeAnn Greff. I’m sure she’ll be blowing us away with another amazing project this month.
