Happy Friday! We’ve got a fun technique challenge this week at TGIF Challenges. You’ll want to check out our blog to see what our designers created to inspire you. For my entry, I created a Hello Sunshine Peekaboo Card using the Sharing Sunshine and Biggest Wish stamp sets.

I wasn’t immediately drawn to the Sharing Sunshine stamp set, but that adorable, cheeky face finally suckered me into buying it. To stamp the sun, I experimented with several of our shades of yellow before settling on So Saffron ink. The cheeks were stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink and the face with Black Memento ink. There are some additional elements on the inside of the card which I’ll share in an upcoming video tutorial.

To create my window, I found the Give It a Whirl dies were a perfect fit. The Flirty Flamingo scallop circle frame is also from this die set, as well as a few cloud shapes. On the inside of the card, I also used the Layering Circles dies and the Basic Borders dies to create a rainbow and clouds panel.

A complete list of supplies for this Hello Sunshine Peekaboo Card below. If you are interested in more cards with the Give It a Whirl Dies, be sure to check out these posts.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

There was a question about how I created the inside of the card, specifically the clouds and rainbow. Die cut a piece of 3″ x 4″ Basic White cardstock with the cloud border from the Basic Borders dies. There are 3 cloud dies included in the Give It a Whirl Dies and I added those as well. For the rainbow, I used the 5 smallest circles from the Layering Circles dies. Die cut the smallest circle first in Pacific Point. On the other colors, you will die cut a smaller circle first, then the larger circle to create a ring (like the red cardstock image). Cut the rings/circle in half and you have a rainbow. I hope this is helpful!

  1. Hi Melissa

Are you going to do a video for the Hello Sunshine card with measurements? I like the inside of the card…going to order tomorrow with free shipping.

  2. I watched it the inside is what I was looking for but will try and wing it with the clouds and rainbow

I’ll add a photo and some more info about that panel to the blog post. Not one to do a video, but I think the photo would help. Give me a day and check back.
