My daughter is at a great age!  She eagerly looks forward to Girls Day each week.  It's our chance to spend some one-on-one time together without the boys around.

Today she really wanted to go with me to the nail place so that she could get a temporary tattoo.  The salon was very busy and we were in a bit of a time crunch, so I suggested we visit the craft store instead.  I found some temporary tattoo paper and asked her if she would like for me to make her some tattoos.  Of course, she said yes!Tattoolead

I selected images from the TUTU CUTE and HAPPILY EVER AFTER cut it files from Lettering Delights.  Using the Silhoutte Designer Edition software, I imported the SVG file and GSD file for each image, grouped them together, and then resized each image to approximately 2-1/2" tall.  I tried to fill the paper….tattoo paper ain't cheap.  Turn on the option to print registration marks and print the images onto the tattoo paper using your home printer.

After you print the images, you'll need to apply a clear adhesive sheet.  Just follow the instructions….it's easy!  Then I put the tattoo sheet onto my cutting mat and into the Silhouette it goes.

Once the Cameo has finished cutting, you'll have tattoos that look like this:

My daughter could not wait to try one and application is a snap!  You'll need to peel off the plastic liner, place it onto skin, moisten it, then remove the paper backing.

This was such a fun Saturday project and I can see that I'll be making more tattoos in the future.  I think they would make great party favors.  I'm pretty sure I know some adults that would enjoy a custom, temporary tattoo.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. where did you get temporary tattoo paper? Which craft store did you go to? I have never seen it but my three granddaughters would LOVE these lol. My email address is noscuses@yahoo.com if you could let me know. Thanks

  2. Hiiii!
I find this idea adorable, can you pls tell me why did you import both, the GDS and SVG files of each image to make the tattoos?
one for the image and the other for the cutting path?
