Monday Montage 61

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all 10 stops… don't want to miss anything!

It's so hard to pick a favorite from the Sale-a-Bration brochure this year!  And since I couldn't pick one, I'm featuring 2 Sale-A-Bration products in today's blog post:  Sky is the Limit stamp set and the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.  These items are only available until February 15th, so time is running out to get them.

I started by die-cutting Crushed Curry card stock with the Sunburst thinlits die and the Big Shot.  I adhered it to the Whisper White card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Next, I stamped the sentiment and heart trail in Basic Black ink onto a piece of the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.  This paper was adhered directly over the Sunburst with SNAIL adhesive.  I added a small strip of Silver Glimmer paper and a few punched "clouds" (tree-builder punch).  A tiny bit of Clear Wink of Stella was added to the clouds to make them shimmer.

I wanted my airplane to shine, so I inked up my stamp in Versamark ink, then Real Red ink.  I stamped quickly onto Whisper White card stock, sprinkled the image with Clear Embossing Powder, and used my heat tool to melt the powder.  I fussy cut the image, then added a vellum circle and silver mini brad as a propeller.  The image was then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

You can find a complete list of supplies with links to purchase them at the end of this post.

I'm jumping on the Periscope bandwagon. You can download the app for free on your smartphone and I'd love for you to Follow me… for Melissa Stout.  I've got a couple of fun scopes planned, but I need a few more followers first.  When I reach 25, I'll share a virtual tour of my crafty space.  Want to know more about Periscope?  I found this post helpful.

Oh, I love this, Melissa! That red plane looks perfect against the beautiful sun rays and blue sky. And I love the little peek of glimmer paper. Beautiful card!

  2. Elizabeth Price | 24th Jan 16

So far–you win! This is hands down the best Soaring High card I have seen. The sunburst through the clouds using the new Thinlet is pure brilliance and the propeller in motion is perfect. Smiles, Elizabeth
