Sneak Peek: Needle & Thread

I’m done!  The holiday crafting is officially over for me and I’m ready to move on.  That seems kind of silly to say when it’s still 2 weeks away from Christmas, but I’ve got new goodies from the Occasions Catalog that aren’t going to play with themselves.   So, today I’m sharing a card featuring the Needlepoint Nook suite.  These products will be available in the Occasions Catalog beginning January 3rd, 2019.

I used this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the layout.  They are having a design team call this week and I thought I’d throw my hat into the ring.  We only regret the shots we don’t take, right?  Plus, they are one of my very favorite challenges to play along with.

This card looks very simple, but there are lots of tiny details.  I embossed the back layer of Whisper White card stock with the Big Shot and the Tufted Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The leaves and flower images from the Needle & Thread stamp set were stamped in Mossy Meadow and Poppy Parade, then die cut with the coordinating Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies.   Another die in that set creates the stitching effect you see behind the flower.

You’ll notice that you can see the “threads” on the stamped image.  That is because it is one of our DistINKtive stamps and has a realistive look.  I find that these images stamp best if you use a light amount of ink or stamp off first.  A few Frosted Epoxy Droplets were added for embellishment.  I believe these will be carrying over from the Holiday catalog and they add such a nice touch to the finished project.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I’ll be sharing another card from this suite later this week, so be sure to subscribe to my blog for updates.

  1. This is beautiful, Melissa. And seriously, you are done?? I’m just getting my act together. Sigh. But this is great motivation to move on to Occasions for sure. So glad to see you this week at FMS and thanks for entering our DT call!

    1. Thanks Jen! I’m done crafting….believe me, there is plenty of shopping, wrapping, baking, etc. to still get done. LOL

  2. This is beautiful, Melissa! It’s so clean and fresh, and it’s nice to see something non-Christmas-y. Unfortunately, I’m not as prepared as you. So good to see you in the FMS gallery!

    1. Thanks Amy! I feel like I’ve been stamping Christmas cards forever, so this was a nice change of pace.
