Today’s card features the Amazing You stamp set, Celebrate You Thinlits, and Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. I created it for a special friend using the layout from this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
A dear friend was in a head-on collision near my home last week. When she couldn’t reach her husband by phone, I was her next call. Therefore, I rushed to the hospital to meet her in the ambulance and was very surprised at how “good” she looked. After scans and x-rays, she was cleared with a small fracture in her neck. She’s going to be alright. There have been some rough days since the accident and there will probably be more to come, but I’m simply amazed at her strength. I am so thankful that her life was spared and that together we can continue to laugh, cry, and watch our children grow.
The Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper is a show-stopper on its own with the silver embossed images. I added a silver foil die-cut “amazing” from the Celebrate You Thinlits dies and Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon that has been colored with the light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends. To complete the greeting, I stamped the words in Marina Mist and Old Olive inks before cutting them apart.
Up until last week, I had diligently been working ahead on blog hop projects, videos, and posting on social. I tend to shut down creatively when I’m feeling overwhelmed, but I’ll still post some of my now “late” projects this week as things return to normal.
I am so excited to be joining the Control Freaks for another blog hop. We’ve got some great projects to share with you that feature products from the Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure. You may have just visited the blog of the very talented other Melissa, Melissa Davies. She’s always got such wonderful ideas and I love her work. Be sure to scroll to the end of this post to follow along to your next stop.
So far, my favorite products in the Occasions catalog are from the Sweet Soiree Suite of products. I’ve already shared a few of the cards that I’ve created with this suite and today’s card features some leftover bits & pieces from other projects. I had die-cut a bunch of extra leaves and flowers, so I decided to make a shaker card with them. A few sequins were added to the shaker mix to make this card sparkle.
The “celebrate” die cut is from the Celebrate You Thinlits dies in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. You can get this set of dies FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-Bration. How cool is that? I die-cut the greeting from Whisper White card stock, then sponged Powder Pink and Berry Burst inks onto it to create an ombre effect.
The final touch is the Berry Burst metallic edge ribbon. I just love the bit of sparkle it adds to the card.
Your next stop on this blog tour is my good buddy, Wendy Weixler. I’m sure she’ll be blowing us away with another amazing project this month.
This weekend has been perfect for crafting! I’ve loved being snowed in with brand new stamps and dies. The Cake Soiree stamp set is becoming a fast favorite and I was inspired to try this fun fold card by this video. This card also fits 2 challenges: CAS(E) this Sketch! and SIP Challenge.
I began by stamping the cake image in Powder Pink & Berry Burst ink onto the front of a Whisper White card base. Next, I used the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies to cut out the cake. The cake was set aside and I ran the front of the card base through the Big Shot with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Additional die cuts (flower, leaves, and cake stand) from the Sweet Cake dies were cut from Berry Burst card stock, Old Olive card stock, and Silver Foil sheets. The “celebrate” die cut is from the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. This set of dies is not available for purchase, but you can get it FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $100 order.
There is much more to this card than meets the eye. To see the way this card works and the additional stamped images, please watch this video.
You’ll find the complete list of supplies at the end of this post. Thank you so much for stopping by!
