Even if you’ve been paper crafting for a short time, you have probably accumulated a lot of paper scraps. It’s hard to throw away a perfectly good scrap, right? You might need it for a project. Well, the designers at TGIF Challenges are showing you some creative ways to use those paper scraps. Be sure to check out our blog and play along with us.

How I organize my paper scraps

I thought I would take the opportunity in this blog post to show you how I organize my paper scraps. This is a picture of one of the drawers from my organizer cart (you can get one here). Each drawer is labeled with a color family such as Brights, Regals, Neutrals, and Subtles. I also have drawers for IN Colors, Designer Series Paper, and Whisper White/Vanilla. When it comes time to create a project, I can just go to the right drawer to get the card stock I need.

For today’s projects, I used the Stitched Triangle Dies to create patterns with Brights card stock scraps. I started by cutting several triangles from each color, then I played around with patterns until I found something I liked. The more I played, the more patterns I began to make. I’ll be sharing some more card ideas with the triangles in an upcoming post.

For the greeting, I die cut the words from the Well Written dies with Basic Black card stock. Next, I traced the outer edge of the die onto Whisper White card stock and cut it out to layer behind the die cut words. The smaller words were stamped with Versamark ink onto Basic Black cardstock, sprinkled with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and heated until melted. I love the bold look of the black & white greeting on a very bright focal point.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
