One of my all-time favorite techniques is the Bokeh background. You can click HERE for a tutorial and to see samples of this technique in action.  As much as I love Bokeh, it can also be a bit messy and time-consuming.  So, I was very excited to see a new set in the Holiday catalog called Twinkle Trees.  It is designed with lots of small stamps that you can overlap to create the Bokeh effect.

Today’s card layout comes from CAS(E) this sketch.  I think it works perfectly, don’t you?

TwinkleTrees

I started by stamping the tree image and sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Next, I added circles of Pink Pirouette, Mint Macaron (stamped off), Pool Party, and So Saffron to create the Bokeh border. The sentiment is from the Tin of Tags stamp set, which I think pairs wonderfully with the Twinkle Trees.

The final touch is a few Fancy Frost Sequins to add some sparkle.

You’ll able to purchase all of these Holiday Catalog products beginning September 1st.

Be sure to sign up for email updates to my blog (right column—>).  I’ll be sharing more samples made with this stamp set in the next few days!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Ahhh! Love this one too! Haven’t seen many using this set but I love what I’ve seen so far from you. Glad to see the bokeh really looks like bokeh! Hoping mine comes tomorrow!
