Hello and happy Friday!  Not only is it the start of the weekend, but it’s also TGIF Challenges day.  Our challenge this week is to use punches.  I’ll admit, I don’t show my punches a lot of love these days so this was truly a bit of a challenge for me.  However, I was able to mix an older, basic .punch with a newer whimsical punch to accent a fun card-in-a-box.

TGIFC174 Feelin' Punchy

We are less than 2 weeks away from the launch of the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalog, so I’m going to start sharing a few sneak peeks with you.  Halloween projects are always fun and I love the cute factor of the Toil and Trouble Suite of products.  It includes the Cauldron Bubble stamp set, Cauldron Framelits dies, and Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper.

Cauldron Bubble Card in a Box

There are lots of fun images to color and die-cut.  I used the Stampin’ Blends to color all of the images on this card.  If you don’t want to color, the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper includes images that you can easily die-cut to use on your project.  To meet the challenge, you’ll see that I used a 3/4″ circle punch for the sentiment and the Twinkle Punch adds a little sparkly moon and stars to the background.

Card in a Box Close Up

This style of card is called a “card in a box”.  I’ve shared a few on my blog before and they have always been popular.  On Monday, I’ll be sharing 2 more versions that feature new Christmas stamp sets.  I’m also working on editing a video tutorial and it will be available sometime this weekend.  These cards may look intimidating, but I’m going to break it down for you, step-by-step.  You’ll be amazed at how easy they are to make!

I’ll be adding the supply list after the Holiday catalog goes live on Sepember 5th.
