Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are so glad you are joining us for another round of inspiring projects.  Sit back and take your time visiting all the stops on the tour.

The Barn Door stamp set was one of my first purchases from the Occasions catalog, but it is definitely somewhat intimidating.   For my first attempt with this bundle, I decided to make a very simple, shabby chic card.  It uses a minimal amount of supplies and actually can be assembled rather quickly.  The only stamping is the door itself, and the two greetings on either side of the door.

Barn Door Cards

I used the Thick Whisper White card stock for the card base and elements.  It is so sturdy and allows the door to move smoothly without any bending of the card.  For the slider mechanism, I have tried #6 and #8 washers with mini dimensionals.  Both sizes work fine, but I prefer the #8 size because if has less of a tendency to leave the track.

Barn Door Close Up

Instead of stamping a wreath or sign from the stamp set, I decided to use one of our boxwood wreath embellishments.  I had some left over from the holidays and thought it would give the card a farmhouse look.  The Tombow multi-adhesive holds the wreath in place nicely.  You’ll need to allow plenty of time for it dry, so do this step last.

Thanks so much for stopping by! You’ll find a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.
