Snow Day! Well, actually it’s an ICE day. Either way, it’s a great day to stay indoors and craft. We have a fantastic sketch this week on the TGIF Challenges blog.
To play along, simply use the sketch below to inspire your card creation and upload it to our blog. We select a winner each week and it could be you!
I finally decided to break out the Sweet Soiree Suite of products. The designer series paper is absolutely gorgeous with handpainted florals and silver metallic accents. I used a few of the papers to build the background of the card, but the real show-stopper is the cake image from the Cake Soiree stamp set. Multiple die cuts and stamped images were used to create a beautiful cake topper that looks good enough to eat!
In this close-up image, you can see the glittery dots and “icing” created with the Shimmery White embossing paste and the Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks. The raised texture of the dried embossing paste adds an interesting aspect to the card, don’t you think?

This week is theme week at TGIF CHALLENGES, so you can use the theme of gratitude to spark your creativity. The designers have posted an amazing assortment of “Thank You” projects that you simply must see! CLICK HERE to view our post and remember, we’d love to have you play along!
The past few months have been so chaotic and I’m realizing that I’ve used very little of my Holiday catalog supplies so far. I always need to create Thank You cards during the holidays. We often have patients bring in baked goods and small tokens of appreciation. It’s nice to have the thank you cards ready to go. So for my inspiration card, I used traditional Holiday products to created a card that would work any time of the year.
The background paper is from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper pack. I’m loving the Buffalo plaid, aren’t you? I added a Foil Snowflake, some Real Red ribbon, and a few Black Rhinestone Jewels to accent the focal point. The sentiment is from the All Things Thanks stamp set. I find it to be incredibly versatile and one of my go-to stamp sets.
Finally, I just want to tell you how thankful I am for these ladies above (and a few more that aren’t pictured). They are amazingly creative and sweet. I am truly blessed to know them and to get to work with them on a weekly basis in the TGIF Challenges.
