Welcome to the Control Freaks monthly blog tour!
I am so excited to be joining the Control Freaks for another blog hop. This month our theme is Beautiful Bouquets. You may have just visited the blog of the very talented Cindy Elam. She’s always got such wonderful ideas and I love her work. Be sure to scroll to the end of this post to follow along to your next stop.
Both of my projects feature the Blossoming Basket Clear-Mount Bundle which includes the Blossoming Basket stamp set and the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This bundle is available as a FREE item during Sale-a-Bration with any $100 purchase. You’ve only got 2 more weeks to take advantage of this great sale and add this beautiful bundle to your stamp collection.
For the first card, I stamped the basket image in Crumb Cake ink onto Whisper White card stock and on a separate scrap of paper. I used a 1-3/8″ scallop punch to punch a portion of the image from the scrap piece. The image was then colored with Stampin’ Blends before being adhered to the card with dimensionals. I used the larger of the mini embroidery hoops to frame the colored portion. It is best to adhere the hoops with Tombow Multi-adhesive. A silver Bakers Twine bow and a simply stamped butterfly finish off the embroidery hoop.
For the second card, I stamped off the Crumb Cake ink first before stamping onto the card panel. I used an aquapainter and ink from the lids of ink pads to color the entire image. The result is a very soft watercolored-look. It’s difficult to see in pictures, but I added a bit of Clear Wink of Stella so that the entire image shimmers. I embossed the background paper with the Basket Weave folder and the Big Shot.
In case you missed it in an earlier post, here is another card that I created with this bundle and the mini embroidery hoops. It features the A Good Day stamp set and would be perfect for the upcoming Easter holiday.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Your next stop on this blog tour is the other Melissa, Melissa Davies. I’m sure she’ll be blowing us away with another amazing project this month.
