Home For the Holidays

Control Freaks Welcome

Welcome to the Control Freaks monthly blog tour!

I am so excited to be joining the Control Freaks for another blog hop. This month our theme is Home for the Holidays. You may have just visited the blog of the very talented Wendy Weixler. She’s always got such wonderful ideas and I love her work. Be sure to scroll to the end of this post to follow along to your next stop.

I’ll be headed home this week for the first of the holiday celebrations.  Before leaving, I wanted to offer my customers a quick Christmas card class on Sunday to get them in the spirit.  We had a great class and today I’m sharing 3 of the cards we made.  All of these cards are very simple and can be made in minutes.  I’ve included the supply list, but if you need more information about any card, I’ve uploaded the videos to my YouTube channel already.

Dashing Deer Card

The Dashing Deer stamp set is definitely one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalog.  I gasped the first time that I stamped this deer image onto paper.  The filigree pattern is amazing!  This card is so quick & easy.  It’s perfect for a beginner or anyone that is short on time.

Snow is Glistening Card

This month, Stampin’ UP! is offering an exclusive selection of products that includes the Snow is Glistening stamp set.  How awesome is this tree image?  I went with some not so traditional colors for a fun effect:  Granny Apple Green and Lovely Lipstick.  To complete this card, you’ll only need a couple of punches and some bling.

Simple Snowflake Card

This final snowflake card was a crowd favorite at yesterday’s class.  The base of the card is the Silver Foil-Edged Cards.  These are a great value and are already pre-cut and scored.  Plus, they come with matching envelopes.  You can’t beat that!  To create the splatter, I used the Artisan Textures stamp set and Pool Party ink.  The snowflake was die-cut with the Snowfall Thinlits dies from the Silver Foil Sheets.
