Happy Friday! It’s time for a fabulous color challenge from the designers at TGIF Challenges. This one had me really stumped. While I love each of these colors individually, I wasn’t sure how to combine them. None of my newer stamps were speaking to me, so I turned to the Annual Catalog. I had totally forgotten about the Dino Days stamp set and I just knew a purple dinosaur card had to happen. (Here is another card with this set that you’ll love, too!)
Dino Days Color Challenge Card
I used the Stamparatus for the dinosaur image to get a rich, deep purple with the Gorgeous Grape ink. It took 3 times to achieve the color I wanted. The spikes on his back were stamped in Just Jade and I cut out the image with the Dino Dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink, then sprinkled on White Embossing powder before heating it with a heat tool. The circles were cut with the Stitched Shapes dies (these are definitely my favorite dies!).
I had a few wiggly eyes and white bakers twine in my retired stash. Some things are just too good to stop using and these items work so well with my Dino Days color challenge card. Speaking of retiring….did you know the retired list will be coming out at the end of this month? What stamps do you think will make the list? I’m having a contest this month with my newsletter subscribers. Be sure to subscribe using the red button at the top of the page to play along and possible win a $25 gift certificate.
