In this post, I’m going to share my process for how I organized my supplies. As a papercrafter, card-maker, and scrapbooker, I hope this saves you some time in figuring out your organization system.

Organizing my Dreambox

Once my Dreambox was delivered and assembled, it was time to really get to work!

It took me several hours to install all of the shelves, pegs, rods, tracks, and totes.

Trying to figure out how to configure everything was definitely the hardest part! I’ve already reconfigured it a couple of times!

How I Organized My Supplies

Let’s Start in the Middle

I have a TON of paper! For my plain 8-1/2″ x 11″ and 12″ x 12″ cardstock, I used 4 paper holders from StampNStorage. These were from my IKEA Kallax shelves that I had in my craft room before the redo. There are 12 dividers in each unit.

Create Room also has a very similar Paper Organizer available to go with the Dreambox. The main difference is the white color. As far as I can tell, the size is practically identical.

There is not much difference in price between the Create Room organizer and the StampNStorage holders. I may eventually paint my current ones or upgrade to the Create Room organizers.

The center area is fairly narrow, but fits the medium totes perfectly. I store many of my frequently used accessories in these totes: adhesives, dimensionals, clear blocks, black ink pads, etc. I also added a few decor items.

In the area behind my table, I store my ink pads, refills, and markers. I already had some of the Stampin’ UP! storage items and I feel like they fit just right.

The Stampin’ UP storage is completely modular, so you can mix and match the items to fit the supplies you have.

Below my table, I store my larger die cutting machines, extra clear blocks, and a few handmade cards in a basket.

My biggest piece of advice for the middle section is to store your largest and heaviest items. It is unlikely that you’ll move this part of the Dreambox, so this would be area to load those supplies.

Left Side of the Dreambox

The outer section of the door is not very deep, but it is still capable of storing lots of supplies.

At the very top, I placed 2 of the acrylic rods and filled the shelves with 8 of the 16oz jars. I did this on both sides. The jars are perfect for small items such as washi tape, sequins, twine, etc.

As you can see in the picture, I haven’t even filled all of my jars yet! Give me time…

Below the jars, I added a single rod for ribbon. My ribbon supply varies throughout the year, so I may add more rods. The Dreambox comes with 4 and you can always order more if you desire.

There is a fixed, 3-compartment shelf in the middle of the door. This is where I store pens, tools, sprays, etc. I want it to be tools that I use frequently and can quickly spot.

On the underside of the fixed shelf, I installed hooks to hand scissors and swatch books.

At the bottom, I used acrylic rods to secure my paper trimmers and scoring tools. This can be seen in the full photo at the top of the post.

For the inner section of the door, I installed shelves for my stamp sets which I organize in alphabetical order. I may need to add another shelf soon!

On the next shelf down, I store my dies and die cutting plates for easy access. I like to be able to grab these quickly when I’m crafting.

At the bottom, I used the large totes to store miscellaneous paper and vinyl.

Right Side of the Dreambox

The right side of the Dreambox is set up very similar to the left, except I used a lot more large totes for my pattern papers.

These totes slide in on tracks and can actually hold quite a bit of paper. However, I found it cumbersome to thumb through multiple paper packs to find what I was looking for.

I ended up purchasing the Shallow InView Totes and they have just recently arrived. These will allow me to divide up my paper in a way that works better for me.

The Shallow Totes were probably the trickiest accessory for me to install and I was short a few of the necessary pegs for installation. However, one email to customer service and they are sending me more at no cost.

I’ll share pics of them soon!

Final Thoughts on Organizing My Dreambox

Did All of My Supplies Fit?

Short answer is NO. But most of them did!

I’m still trying to find a way to store my paper punches and a few other accessories. I have a few empty totes and the Notions Tray inserts that should solve that for me.
