Starburst Background Technique: Monday Montage 208
Hi everyone and welcome back to another Monday Montage Blog Hop! We’ve got some great projects to share with you, so make sure you continue by clicking the NEXT button at the bottom of this post to continue the hop. I had a lot of paper scraps remaining from the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper after making a bunch of Valentine’s Day cards. Today, I’m sharing a great Starburst Background technique for using up those leftovers in a creative way.
This technique is super quick & easy. If you’re more of a visual person, check out my Tik Tok to see a quick video. Simply grab strips of pattern paper approximately 1″-3″ in width and any length. Cut them in half diagonally. I like to use an adhesive sheet on Basic White cardstock to get a nice, even layer of adhesive. Then, I lay the strips in a starburst pattern, mixing the patterns as I go. Once I’ve filled the cardstock with strips, I flip it over and trim off any excess.
For the focal point on this card, I used a Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Special Moments. You can get it free with a $100 qualifying purchase through the end of February 2022. I love the bold look of the white embossed greeting on Basic Black cardstock. It really makes the greeting stand out against the busy background. Check out this variation of the Starburst Background technique that I created a few years ago.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Sadly this is going to be my last Monday Montage blog hop. Be sure to subscribe to my email newsletter if you’d like to keep in touch and I hope that you’ll continue to support all of my amazing friends.
