Way back in August, Kaitlyn posted some beautiful Thank You cards with a pink and gold color scheme. At the time, I thought that was a very unique combination of colors. Then a few days ago, I saw a calendar at Target with a similar color combo.
Now for a true confession: I don't like gold. I don't own a single piece of gold jewelry and I certainly don't use gold very much in my creative projects. So when the Occasions Mini catalog was released and I spotted all those gold products, my reaction was less than enthusiastic.
I always try to embrace new trends, so this is my attempt to give gold a great big hug.
I started by embossing a small strip of the gold foil sheet with the Decorative Dots embossing folder (coming soon). For the background, I used the folder to emboss a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, then lightly rub the raised dots with the Encore Gold ink pad.
You'll see that I used a lot of new products on this card:
The greeting was die cut with the Chalk Talk framelits die. I love that this set of dies coordinates with so many of our stamp sets!
So what do you think of this unique color combo? Have you embraced the gold trend?
Thanks for stopping by!
