Sale-a-Bration Inspiration

We’ve got some great INSPIRATION from the Sale-a-Bration catalogs on the TGIF Challenges blog.  You can play along by uploading your creations made with any current Sale-a-bration product.  We select a winner every Friday and who doesn’t want to see their work showcased?

Today, I’m sharing 2 cards that I created from the Color Challenge that we had 2 weeks ago.  You can see my original card HERE.  I had so much fun using the pink combo with the Beautiful Peacock that I made another stepped up version and a very quick & simple card.

Beautiful Peacock

For the background, I selected a beautiful, Powder Pink background paper from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.  Behind the stamped image, I created a ribbon ruffle with the Powder Pink shimmer ribbon.  This is an easy technique with a big WOW factor!  Simply place some strong adhesive along the edge of the cardstock.  I used the Tear & Tape adhesive on this project.  Next, you’ll fold the ribbon back and forth along the adhesive, creating the ruffle.  I popped the entire panel up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Beautiful Peacock Close Up

Another fun ribbon technique is to fray the ribbon.  Just pull on one of the strings gently until the ribbon begins to fray.  I used this piece to act as a fancy tail feather.  A few basic pearls were also added to accent the card.

Simple Beautiful Peacock

If you are short on time, you can easily create a beautiful card with some simple stamping.  The body of the peacock and greeting were stamped in Basic Gray ink.    For the feathers, I used the same color combination but stamped off to create more depth of color.

Be sure to check out the card designs from our amazing TGIF design team.
