#TGIFC122 Technique Challenge – Watercolor Image
Happy Friday! It’s time for another fun challenge with the designers at TGIF Challenges. This week we are featuring Watercolor Main Images and the inspiration cards are AMAZING! You can check them out and play along with us HERE.
The Stout family is hosting an exchange student from China until Sunday. I’ve had to adjust to having 2 kids under the same roof again. It has meant more cooking, running around, and a lot less sleep! However, it has also been a ton of fun and very enlightening. We are going to do some fun activities this weekend, and I’ll share more about our adventures in an upcoming post.
With my focus elsewhere, I had to whip up a very quick card for the challenge. I dusted off the Watercolor Wings stamp set and the coordinating Bold Butterfly thinlits. To begin, I created a stencil/mask with the large butterfly die and the big shot. I sprayed both the negative and positive dies with a temporary adhesive. Then, I adhered the butterfly to the card and used an aquapainter and Crumb Cake ink to create a wash of color around the butterfly. I removed the butterfly mask, and put the negative mask over the butterfly then watercolored with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Rose Red inks. The final step was to add the Basic Black detail and greeting stamps.
I probably haven’t used this stamp set for over a year!
