#TGIFC192 Product Spotlight: Glossy Card Stock

We have a fun challenge this week at TGIF Challenges to use Glossy Card Stock. This is one of my all-time favorite products and I was so happy to see it return to the Stampin’ UP! product line. You can do so many interesting techniques, including the Shaving Cream background I’m sharing today. I first shared this technique on my blog in 2007 and you can see that early post HERE. (Don’t laugh! It was one of my first blog posts! LOL)

I hope you are getting excited about the launch of the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs on January 3rd. I’m pretty sure the Butterfly Gala stamp set and the coordinating punch will be extremely popular. This stamp set has quite a few butterfly images and some great greetings, too! You don’t have to worry about fussy cutting either: there is a punch that will punch out both sizes of butterflies perfectly!

For the background, I used shaving cream and ink refills in Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana on the Glossy Card Stock. I’m able to create several panels and each one has a completely different look. Check out my Instagram feed to see another sample using this technique and stamp set.

I stamped the greeting on Whisper White card stock with Granny Apple Green ink. Next, I added a couple of strips of the new Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper in Daffodil Delight behind the greeting and tied on some Whisper White Baker’s Twine. If you look closely, you’ll see a few Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins scattered in the background to give it a little sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a safe and happy New Year celebration.
