#TGIFC264 Technique Challenge – Watercolor

Happy Friday everyone! It’s time for another fun challenge from TGIF Challenges. This week we are featuring a technique: watercolor. You’ll want to check out the designers’ inspiration projects and play along by clicking the graphic below.

I’ll be honest…..I’m not great with watercoloring. I think it’s because I have a hard time coloring outside the lines. LOL. For this project, I used the Accented Blooms stamp set and embossed the main image with Versamark and Black embossing powder. This helps to contain the color, rather than let it bleed outside the lines.

Next, I used an aquapainter and various re-inkers to color the image. I allowed each color to dry completely before moving to the next, which also minimizes the bleed. For the background, I did a watercolor wash of Coastal Cabana ink. The AquaPainters have retired, but Stampin’ UP will be releasing a similar product with the new catalog.

If you love the Accented Blooms stamp set, be sure to add it to your order this month. It will be retiring on June 2nd. You can shop anytime in my online store at http://stampdoc.stampinup.net

Thanks so much for stopping by!
