I’m a little late to the TGIF Challenges party this week, but we’ve got a great color challenge happening now. This challenge is perfect for all your Valentine’s cards, so I hope you’ll join us. My inspiration project is a Hey Chick wiper card featuring the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles which were released on Tuesday.
It has been awhile since I’ve created a wiper card. In fact, I think this retro card that I posted in 2014 was the last one! I loosely followed this tutorial from Splitcoaststampers to make my card. For the wiper mechanism, I used a window sheet to place my chicken and die cuts on. This gives them a floating appearance.

Here are a few design tidbits: I used the Stitched Be Mine dies for the heart die cuts. The sentiment is from the Heartfelt stamp set and fits perfectly for Galentine’s Day. I colored the chicken images with a combination of Smoky Slate and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. A blending brush and Real Red ink were used to add a light wash of color around the large heart die cut.
