Today on Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration, we are featuring cards for Valentine’s Day. Be sure to check out what the designers have created for you.
Now, for a little PSA…….if you are going to watercolor with Real Red ink, be aware that it may end up looking like a crime scene. I think I’ll call this card my Dexter card. LOL
I like to create several pieces of watercolored paper at one time so that I have a variety to choose from. I have found that the Shimmery White card stock is excellent for creating different effects. I heavily spritz my card stock with water, then use the Aqua Painter to add drops of Real Red ink refill.
To create the vein-y areas, I used a straw to blow the ink over the card stock. Once the red ink had dried, I splattered a little Whisper White ink over it. The sentiment was die-cut with the Big Shot and the Little Letters plus Hello You thinlits dies.
I’ve got 2 more watercolored Valentines that I’ll be sharing in the next week. They turned out less “bloody” and more whimsical, so you’ll definitely want to check back in with me.
Thanks for stopping by!
