Papercrafting is the Best Medicine

Hey Love

Control Freaks Welcome

Welcome to the Control Freaks Blog Hop for January!

This month we are sharing project ideas featuring stamps from the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs.  You may have just visited the blog of the other Melissa, Melissa Davies.  She always has such inspiring ideas!  Be sure to scroll all the way down to the end to continue on the blog tour.

All of my projects feature the stamp set, Hey Love.

For the bird card, I used a 3″ x 3″ card, layered with a bit of All My Love Designer Series Paper and a few die cuts from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies. I colored the bird with Balmy Blue and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. The skunk card definitely qualifies as a #simplestamping card. I simply stamped the skunk image and greeting in Black Memento ink onto a Whisper Narrow Note Card, then colored with Smoky Slate and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.

This is probably the first year that we won’t be making classroom Valentines. Sad, isn’t it? We will probably still make a few treats for my daughter’s close friends and these 2 ideas are quick and easy. For the gorilla topper, I cut Flirty Flamingo card stock to 2-1/2″ x 5″ and folded it in half. I added a layer of All My Love Designer Series Paper measuring 2-1/4″ square. Next, I stamped the greeting in Black Memento ink directly onto the Designer Series Paper. And finally, I filled a 2″ x 8″ food safe cello bag with cherry sours and carefully stapled the topper to the package.

I stamped the gorilla image in Black Memento ink onto Whisper White card stock, then fussy cut. I colored the image with Smoky Slate and Flirty Flamingo blends, then popped it up with dimensionals.

Wondering how I created the triangle box? Hop over to my Facebook page to view the LIVE video from earlier today. I give all the measurements and walk you through step-by-step. These treat boxes are super easy and a fantastic way to use up any extra paper you may have laying around.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Your next stop on this blog tour is my good buddy, Wendy Weixler. I’m sure she’ll be blowing us away with another amazing project this month.
