Picture This Dies: Control Freaks June 2021

Hi everyone and welcome to another great blog hop from the Control Freak Stampers! You may have arrived here from Wendy Weixler’s blog. I’m usually before her in our other hops, so this seems a bit backwards to me. She is a great friend and so creative! Our theme this month is New Catalog Goodies and boy, do we have some good stuff to share with you today! My projects feature the Stellar Birthday stamp set and the Picture This Dies. These dies are a standalone set in the catalog, so they pair well with many other stamp & die combinations.

My first card features the die with the circles from the Picture This Dies. This card is another tri-fold peekaboo card similar to the one I shared yesterday. I began by creating a template with the die, then layered it onto a separate piece of Basic White card stock. Using a wide variety of Stampin’ Blends, I tried to color planets. My daughter has informed me that there is not a purple planet (it’s been a while since I’ve studied this stuff and I like purple). The colored “planets” were then die cut and layered behind the panel on the peekaboo card. I’ll have a video on this fold next week on my YouTube channel.

On this next card, I again used the Picture This Dies as a template but only used one of the rectangles. The galaxy background is super easy to create and I’ll link the video below. I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to create the bold words on both cards. The rocket and dog astronaut were colored with Stampin’ Blends and the greetings were embossed with White Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock.

You’re next stop on the Control Freaks tour is Bree Renwick. I’m sure she’ll wow you with her amazing work!

So fantastic! I’d love to ask you how you created the white background bubble outline for the black alphabet letters. Many thanks Carolina

I’ve got several methods of doing this. I’ll plan a blog post on it for next week so be sure to check back!
