If you’re passionate about cardmaking, you know there are lots of tools that make the process easier and more efficient – and adhesives are no exception. Using the right adhesive for the job ensures that your cardmaking projects are secure and attractive. But with so many adhesives on the market, it can be hard to choose the right one. Welcome to Adhesives 101. In my recent Facebook Live, I covered the five most popular types of adhesives used for cardmaking, from double-sided tape to glue dots. I provide information about each one, their pros and cons, and explain how to choose the best adhesive for the job. By the end of the video, you’ll have all the knowledge you need to pick the perfect adhesive for your cardmaking projects.

Adhesives 101:  using adhesives as embellishments

In the video, I demonstrated 2 holiday cards using adhesives as embellishments. The first card has a piece of Tear & Tape between the top and bottom pattern papers. I used the gilded leafing over the top to give it a golden shimmer. The second card uses black mini dimensionals covered in copper embossing powder. Use a heat tool to melt the powder to create a custom embellishment.
