Beautiful Peacock Color Challenge #TGIFC145
We have a very PINK color challenge at TGIF Challenges this week. Simply use any combination of the colors below to create a card and upload it to the challenge blog by next Thursday. You’ve got plenty of time to get those stamps inky and we’ve got some fantastic inspiration cards here.
Personally, I feel like I’ve run out of ideas. So, I went looking to find a card to CASE (copy and share everything). If you look at the cover of the Sale-a-Bration brochure, you’ll see the card I copied. Believe it or not, I simplified quite a bit. It’s been a long time since I’ve used my sewing machine and it doesn’t look like I’m getting it out anytime soon. However, I tried to implement as many aspects from the original card as possible.
My favorite part of the card is the Shimmery White embossing paste that was applied to the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper with the Pattern Party Decorative Mask. It adds a surprising touch of sparkle to the overall card design. The feathers of the peacock were a pain in the *** to fussy cut, so I broke out my Silhouette Cameo instead. Trust me, whoever created that card on the front of the Sale-a-Bration brochure is a VERY PATIENT person. And finally, I changed the body of the peacock to Soft Suede and switched out the silver sequins for gold.
If you find yourself creatively stuck, try combining a color challenge with a card in one of the catalogs. Subtle changes can create a completely different masterpiece.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
