Hey Birthday Chick Clean & Simple Card

Happy Monday! We are hunkering down in Indiana and getting ready for some SNOW. It’s been a few years since we’ve had a significant snowfall. I’m really hoping for a good old-fashioned snow day and lots of crafting! Today I’m sharing a Hey Birthday Chick clean and simple card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I began by stamping the large All Wired Up background stamp in White Craft ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock. It is best to do this with the Stamparatus for even ink coverage. I also like to hit the craft ink with the heat tool to speed the drying time. A few strips of In Color Designer Series Paper adds a bold pop of color to the middle of the card.

For the focal point, I stamped “happy birthday” in Versamark ink onto black cardstock, sprinkled with White Emboss Powder then heated until it melted. I did a little fussy cutting around the greeting before adhering it to the front to the card with dimensionals. I’ve got a great tutorial on how I create a white embossed greeting that you can check out in this blog post.

The little chick image is from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set and can be cut out with the coordinating dies. I stamped the image in Black Memento ink, then colored it with Stampin’ Blends. He’s just too cute!

  1. What a cute little chick! I love it on the neutral background with the bright pops of colors in the stripe. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
