How to Use the Gilded Leafing Embellishment

When I asked on Facebook recently about what embellishment everyone would like to see me demonstrate, the overwhelming response was for the Gilded Leafing Embellishment. I’ll admit that I had not used it much, so it was fun to come up with some amazing techniques. This embellishment really adds an elegant element to your handmade cards. You’ll definitely want to add it to your next order!

For this first card, I did a modified version of Bruno Bertucci’s Scrappy Strip technique which you can view HERE. I began by placing an adhesive sheet onto a piece of Basic White card stock. On the sample card, I used strips of Designer Series Paper from the Forever Greenery pack. The butterfly was die cut with the adhesive sheet also, before I added the Gilded Leafing Embellishment.

On these next two cards, I used some background techniques. For the first one, I stamped the butterfly images with Versamark ink then sprinkled on Heat & Stick powder. The powder was briefly heated with the heat tool, and then I added the Gilded Leafing. I used the Natural Touch Specialty Paper on the second card and sponged on some Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Once the glue was tacky, I added the embellishment. Here is another fun buttterfly card you should check out!

This final card is my favorite! It is so striking in person. After I stamped, die-cut, and colored the butterfly image, I sponged on more of the multipurpose liquid glue around the edges before adding the gilded leafing. The gorgeous stripes were created by adhering strips of the Tear & Tape Adhesive. It’s such a quick way to add some background interest.

I hope you’ll give one or all of these techniques a try! Happy Stamping!
