Monday Montage 124 Beautiful Blizzard

Monday Montage BannerToday I’m featuring cards made with the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and Blizzard Thinlits Die.  There has been a bit of a chill in the air this weekend, so I must be gearing up for colder weather.  I’m never quite ready for a real blizzard, though.

Beautiful Blizzard 2 for 1 Cards

For these cards, I started with a quarter sheet of Glossy White card stock.  I brayered 3 colors of blue ink over the card stock to create a very gentle gradiation of color.  Next, I adhered a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of the glossy card stock before running it through the Big Shot with the Blizzard Thinlits Die.  I had the best success using the Precision Base Plate as part of my sandwich and running it through the Big Shot 3 or 4 times.  This will give you a ton of cut snowflakes as well as the negative space from the die cutting.

Beautiful Blizzard using the Negative Die Cut

I was able to salvage a few 2″ x 4″ pieces of the negative space paper and layered it onto some Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  This piece was adhered to the card front.  I stamped the greeting in Gray Granite ink above it and added a bit of Silver Baker’s Twine for even more sparkle.

Beautiful Blizzard using Positive Die

You will get a ton of snowflakes from one cut of this die and I only used three on this card.  The greeting and splatter(stamp off first) were stamped in Gray Granite ink and I added a couple of Balmy Blue swirls.  Because I added the multipurpose adhesive sheet to the back of the card stock before die-cutting, I can simply peel off the backing and place the snowflakes.  To make this card sparkle, I added a few Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  You’ll find the complete list of supplies at the very end of this post.
