How to Outline the Playful Alphabet Dies
Today’s card features the adorable Turtle Friends stamp set and the Playful Alphabet dies. I based the layout on this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. The card base was made with a 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Petal Pink cardstock that I scored at 4-1/4″ to create a square card. Next, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3-3/4″ square. I used a blending brush and Pool Party ink to give the Basic White cardstock a light wash of color. The turtle image was stamped in Black Memento and Granny Apple inks, then fussy cut. I die cut the letters from Pattern Party Designer Series Paper that was mounted onto Foam Adhesive Sheets. Read on to see how I outline the Playful Alphabet dies.
How to Outline the Playful Alphabet Dies
I’ve had a few people ask about how I create the border around my words created with the Playful Alphabet dies. There are a couple of methods that I use, but today I’m going to share the most user-friendly technique that anyone can do. It does take a bit of practice to get it right, so don’t get discouraged on your first (or second) try. Here is a quick video that demonstrates how to use a washer to outline your words.
Thanks so much for stopping by! You’ll find the complete list of supplies below.

Love this technique! What size washer do you use?
It’s a #6 which is about a 3/8” diameter.
