It’s time for another challenge:  are you ready for the Eclipse technique?  Unlike the solar eclipse, this is a technique that will have you staring at the beautiful result.  Be sure to check out what the designers at TGIF Challenges created to inspire you using this technique.

Eclipse Technique

I did this technique long before there was a name for it.  Check out this Mother’s Day card and a quick video How-to here.  For my challenge card, I decided to do something a bit different and reverse the eclipse.  I cut the word “HI” into the Just Add Color Designer Series Paper using the Large Letters Framelits and the Big Shot.  I layered this onto a piece of Lemon-Lime twist card stock on Basic Black card stock using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To create the graduated color on the background, I used the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  This was my first time using the blends, and I can’t wait to try them again.  You’ll be able to purchase them on November 1st.

The sentiment is from the In the City Hostess Stamp Set.  I stamped it in Versamark ink, sprinkled on white embossing powdered, then heat with the heat tool until the powder melted.  Finally, I added just a few White Perfect accents for embellishment.
